Quick Facts

Co-led by Hanoi University of Science and Technology and the University of Greenwich, 3PUKSEA is a two-year initiative funded by the Academy of Medical Sciences under the Network Strengthening Grants Scheme (NSGR1S2\1010). Launching in March 2025 across five SE Asian nations, the network integrates expertise in engineering, environmental, and social sciences to drive regional innovation in sustainable proteins. By empowering early-career and female researchers, the project directly advances UN Sustainable Development Goals 9 and 12.
Focus
Upcycling 25-35% of waste/side-streams from 47 Mt rice production in Vietnam
Goal
Establishing a sustainable protein innovation launchpad to unlock co-benefits of protein shift and upcycling
