Experience

Assoc. Prof. Lai Quoc Dat is a senior lecturer at Faculty of Chemical Engineering, HCMC University of Technology (HCMUT). He has more than 20 years of experience in field of Food and Bioprocess Engineering, including process and product development. He has led and participated in over 15 national and international research projects, which focused on: (i) development of advanced technologies (membrane filtration, ohmic heating, drying, etc.) in food and agricultural processing; (ii) the authentication of origin and quality of agri-food products using non-destructive analysis combined with data mining for quality management in food supply chains; and (iii) the development of value-added products and production technologies oriented toward sustainable development and green transformation. He has been the author of 2 textbooks, hold 5 patents, and published approximately 100 scientific articles in national and international journals. Recently, alongside his teaching at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT), he also leads the FASUP (Food and Agricultural Sustainability Production) research group and serves as the Director of External Affairs Office at HCMUT. In this role, he acts as a bridge to promote academic cooperation and technology transfer with international partners and industry.
